Detailed 5 Days Safari in Rwanda

Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

After breakfast, depart for Nyungwe Forest National Park. Visit the historical and cultural sites of Butare and Nyanza en route to the park. You will visit the National Museum and the National University of Butare.

You will also visit the Old King’s Palace (Old Mwami’s Palace) in Nyanza for cultural interaction. Lunch in Butare and continuation of the journey to reach Nyanza in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Gisakura Guest House/Nyungwe Forest Lodge

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tour in Nyungwe

After breakfast, you will set out on a chimpanzee trekking in this rainforest. Your first report to park headquarters for a briefing from the park rangers and then begin your journey through the forest in search of the chimpanzees.

You will have a chance to see chimpanzees and other primates such as Rwenzori colobus, L’hoests monkey, silver monkey, owl-faced monkey and grey-cheeked mangabey, and so on. Return for dinner and overnight at ORTPN Gisakura/Nyungwe Forest Lodge guest house.

Day 3: Transfer to Ruhengeri

After breakfast transfer to the city of Ruhengeri, near the Volcanoes National Park. Upon arrival, take a short 5 Days Gorilla and Chimpanzee Safari in Rwanda of the city and visit the local markets. You will walk through Virunga volcano hills and green valley in search of gorillas and the activity is somewhat exhausting but once you meet gorillas you will definitely forget all the hardships you went through to meet gorillas to see.

After tracking the gorillas, spend an hour with them, allowing you to take photos. Afterward, you will return to your lodge with Gorilla Trekking experiences and memories for relaxation. In the evening, you can visit the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo for cultural experiences. Dinner and overnight at Kinigi Guest House/Mountain Gorilla View Lodge/Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge.

Day 5: Return to Kigali

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kigali city for a short city tour, where you can visit the genocide memorial sites, local schools, and colorful markets. You will then be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
